Doing this on a stand-alone OS, such as XP workstation could be a potentially impossible task. With that being said, I wouldn't waste too much time on the thought or the process of making this work. Why, you ask? Because in the Hot Deals forum, there is a 30 GB Maxtor listed for sale at Office Depot for about $30.00. Trying to get the 2 drives (and 13 GB) to play nicely together would eat up more than the effort and time than it would be to just put in a new, faster, larger hard drive. Then, you could sell the 2 old hard drives for $10 each to recover part of the costs.
Thanks wje, that is a great answer. Its a free system for a friend, who has no money so I thought if it were easy to do I would do it.
So I think I will be a nice guy and buy my friend a 30gig drive and not tell him and just put it in the system.
Thanks all for your answers.
