How can I remove the black top and bottom from an avi file

When this was encoded, the black top and bottom were not completely removed. Now, I have to clip it to reduce the file size. What do I use and how? Thanks in advance.

Use Virtualdub and the crop filter. I don't remember any of the details off the top of my head, but you might have to recompress it. You're probably better off (quality-wise) to leave the file as is. Also, what type of compression are you using?
