How can I reformat my Lenovo T60 that doesn't have recovery disks?

Anyone ever done this? I have a new 160gb HD I want to install in it.

You don't need a recovery disk to reformat a drive. You may need it to reinstall the OS on the system. Or you can buy a new copy of Windows to put on it.

If your Lenovo will not let you make the recovery discs, you can order them here:

Just select which OS you wanted .. You can also use a program like Ghost or TruImage
to clone the Old Drive to the New Drive ... I do not know if cloning will also copy the recovery
partition as that is usually hidden.

I have a T61 and can confirm that Acronis does clone the recovery partition as well. I had recently purchased a Hitachi 200 gb 7200 rpm drive to replace my dinky 60gb.

Or download a bittorrent copy, you have a license, the media matters not.

My T60 came with a 160 GB drive - and no "recovery" disk. That is on the blue button's partition. However - it also came with the Microsoft "Anytime Upgrade" DVD, and I used that to reinstall with the provided key.
