How can I reduce the noise?

My computer is unbearably loud - it has these fans inside:

-Delta 37 CFM fans (on my Alpha 6035)
-Blue Orb
-two Aida 80 mms
-two Papst 92mm

I know that I can decrease the voltage but the Aida and Papst fans don't work too well in 5 volts...

Is there any cost-effective sound insulation I can buy?

Not with that Delta - sorry but there's NO way around ditching that fan if you'd like to reduce noise. The Delta is by far the worst out of those you mentioned, you may want to swap for a SunOn.

Not that this helped a whole lot with the overall "noise" per say but with the frequency of it. I put a motherboard bag, (those pink bubblewrap kinda ones although any heavy acoustic foam would work better) on the inside of my 7237's door. I made a duct to throw air & sound directly into the 80mm's exhaust (lowered frequency not intensity), then I put a "muffler" over that and my powersupplies fan. (A box cut to a opened ended tube with one side missing and has thick padding on inside.) It is still louder than I like, which is why I ordered a water cooler.

Basically all that (is much quieter than before) and it still wasn't enough. Without music or a loud game going that thing gets on my nerves.

Just to add nothing to this thread;), I can't believe how much noise 4HDs can create. At first I thought it was all the fans I had. But then I ran the computers for a few seconds with all of them disconnected, and it barely made a difference in the sound.

1. You can buy new, quieter fans. Not all ADDA/Papst/Panaflow fans are quiet. Some of them are high output fans. Therefore you need to check to see which ones you have vs. need to get.

2. You can buy/make a converter to place on your heatsink. Then use a larger, quieter fan instead of the Delta.

3. You can run the current fans on 7V instead of 5V or 12V.

I like the fan on my volcanoII, I had a defective northbridge fan on my asus a7v133 that was pretty loud, and my volcano is about 1/2 the noise of that
