Today I'm going to buy Sirius satellite radio receiver, and the home docking kit. The home docking kit comes with an Audio Cable (1/8" Mini-jack-to-RCA) connector to plug into my home theater receiver. What I'm thinking of trying to get this to work is to get a RCA Y-Adapter so on end can go to the receiver, and the other end will be for my computer.

I'll buy a RCA Y Cable-to 1/8" mini-jack cable @ Radio Shack to plug into my SB Audigy 2 ZS. So, in theory I get the signal to the computer, but how can I set it up to record? I want to specify a time to record in mp3 format, and then if possible, to shut down pc automatically.

Anyone try this. I think it will work, just not sure if I can find free/cheap software to do the automated recording part....??

Suggestions/Opinions/Comments welcome. Thanks!

Check out Total Recorder on the HiCriteria website or better yet Time Trax software.
