How can I record internet/streaming video on my PC?

Hi guys, I hope I have the right forum. My dad watches some streaming Romanian TV video on his new PC, and he asked me if there was a way to record some of these shows for later viewing. What is a good (cheap/free) method of doing this, does anyone know?

Yes, it is possible.

You'll need a tool called "GraphEdit"... it allows you view and edit the ways in which your system handles audio and video streams.
