This is my first fight with dust since my old P3 had no case fans.
Last week, I noticed a huge amount of dust growing out the side cracks of my 5.25" bays. In addition, I usually keep the door of my Antec Sonata closed, but the dust still builds.
I have for my Exhaust:
-380W TruePower PSU
-120mm stock fan
-VGA Silencer Rev3
Intake:
-120mm Antec Pro Series fan (I would rate it slightly weaker than the stock fan)
I was suggested that may I should switch my front and rear fan, so I can get more intake going which may create a natural tendency to push things out. Dunno if that's true or not, or if it's worth the hassle...
Also, my optical drives aren't exactly that close to my front fan... but if I put my fingers into the cracks, I do feel air flowing in.
Any suggestions for dust prevention? Or is this just a losing battle?
edit: I also hear that you can stick an 80mm fan in the area in front of the dust filter. Of course, that requires you to rip off the front panel. Has anyone tried this? How do you take off the front panel anyways? I can get it half way off, but I'm afraid I might break something. Is there some sorta technique I should be using?
