I'm wanting to play my Wii on my 20.1" widescreen LCD computer monitor that hooks to my video card through DVI. Does anybody know how I would do this?

Not only that but I want to record the footage of me playing at the same time. Any ideas on what hardware I need to do this?

EDIT: I basically want to be able to record and make videos like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JgO-zIDV_g

You will need a PCI or PCIE TV card. You will likely only find ones with s-vid and composite in, however. Go to newegg for a huge selection of them.

If I'm going to get a TV card to do this, is there one anybody could recommend for under $50 that's still good quality?

It is worth noting that most definitely you will incur video delay if you route the Wii through a TV card.

Not true. There are cards out that will not give a video delay. Actually most of the older TV cards will not have a delay. The newer TV cards out these days use image enhancement techniques that cause a 1-3 second delay.

To the OP - go to ebay and get an old Avermedia TV98. It should be dirt cheap now. (ONLY do this if you are running XP/2000 not Vista). It will give you real time video for your Wii that you will be able to record on your PC. You can use a free program like Dscaler to view. If you want to record though you'll probably have to use recording software. (lots of choices out there do a web search and see what you like)
