Your wanting a program like Alcohol 120% or daemon tools. All it does is create a virtual cd rom drive. You then create an image of the disk and mount it on one of the virtual drives. Also, with newer games you'll have to deal with the copy protection on the cd and choose the right type of security when creating an image of the disk.

BTW, daemon tools is freeware so that would be the easiest way to go. There's many, many other programs just like those two I mentioned, but those are the only two I've used.

Yes, it's legal.

Use something to rip the CD image like Alcohol 120% (preferred) or Nero and use Daemon-Tools to mount the CD. This creates a virtual CD that creates a drive letter that acts just like a CD.

That or crack your executable or a no-CD patch. But the disc imaging method is preferred by me. Another benefit is your games load faster because it doesn't have to read off a CD.

Use a virtual CD drive program, such as "Alcohol 120%".

This can create CD/DVD images on multiple virtual drives.
Of course, this may also require purchasing a larger capacity HD, to hold the images.

The great part about Alcohol is that it works on network drives. I have all my virtual CDs on a network drive ;). Other programs like CDSpace don't work with network drives.

www.gamecopyworld.com has fixed exe's which removes the cd check. Virtual drives will work but considering the size of some of the newer games (UT2004,FARCRY,Silent hill 3) you will waist alot of hard drive space storing the images of your discs. the fixed exe is the better way to go as long as they are legit copies you own.
