How can I net send?

How do you net send, I use to do it to my mom, but my friend wants me to help him scare his sister. I know you type net send (ip) then the message, well actually i think thats what you do. And do you do that in run or in cmd? Thanks for the help

At the command prompt, type: net send [machine name] [message]

For example, if on a LAN, type: net send bill hello

If running linux, you can use the smbclient command.

1. Run DOS (either from START>RUN>CMD>[ENTER] or from the shortcut in accessories.
2. Type NET SEND (don't press enter yet).
3. After SEND press space and enter the computer number (EX. datdamkid).
4. After the computer number type your message.
5. Press enter.
