How can I make virtualdub work with mpeg2 files?

How can I make virtualdub work with mpeg2 files?

I keep getting some strange pop-up when I try to open an mpeg2 file.

Any suggestions?

try virtualdubmod instead. another option is to install avisynth, make an .avs file that points to the mpeg, and open that with vdub. if you're looking to edit~compress the mpeg to avi you're ok, but I'm pretty sure you can't ouput an mpeg file in vdub. so if you're just doing cuts take a look at the "tools" section in videohelp.com and look at the freebies.

i vote for avisynth inuse with virtualdub.

I find avisynth amazing. It makes working with mpegs a breeze.
