How can I make my message boards/topics be listed in search engines

My site lists just fine, but not stuff like board members usernames, topics, etc.

By flooding the Web with references <XXX> and repeatedly cross-linking to specific articles and sites on the Web, it is possible to take advantage of Google?s formula and force those articles to the top of the list of search results.

Does your messageboard software leave META tags imbeded in the code to prevent search engine spiders from marking the site?

Not sure. They are SMF boards
