How can I make my hair Tweety Bird yellow?

I have brown hair and I need to turn my hair cartoon yellow for a Halloween costume. Any ideas? I bought a can of the colored hairspray but it doesn't cover enough and would make my hair as hard as rock. I also tried food coloring but that just gave it a yellow tinge.

I've had suggestions of Kool-Aid and Jello powder. Will these work? What exactly is the procedure?

Temporary coloring is much preferred. Bleaching and dyeing is a last resort. Ability to color the eyebrows is a plus

I hairsprayed my hair black once to make fun of my emo friend for halloween.

Was totally worth it, but in order to get it off I needed to take a bath, and when I was in the bath I combed my hair until enough of it came off.

Hurt like hell. I suppose I could have used paint thinner or the such but that would have probably made my hair fall out or something.
