I have been flamed alot for my english and it is starting to hurt to tell you the truth. If I wrote a large paper on some random subjuct and corrected the errors I made, would that help? (An idea)

Yeah. I learned most of my language skills reading books. Is it grammar, spelling, or using wrong words that's causing you problems? Some people are just naturally bad spellers.

Practice and read.

oh proof reading never hurts. I remember when I had to take a writing class to get my degree. I lost whole grades on proof reading errors alone.

Don't expect Word to get everything for you.

What's your age? Is English your first language?

I agree with Kevin1211 that reading good books would be the best - every word you read is correct and after words and sentences a lot you get much better. You learn now only how to spell words, but how to use them properly and eloquently. Writing might help a little bit, but since you're actually making mistakes and going back to fix them, you still practice bad habits.

Why do I have the feeling that the OP is a troll?
OP, wwybywb or what's the username on your other account?

take the college level books that many professors deem as most important to the history of the world. you read aloud as much as possible and memorize everything. pay attention to details and form your own logic about how the material is written. it is very high energy reading to absorb powerfully written articles by very good writers. the many forms at which you can possibly grasp and understand their writing styles will make you more confident and efficient even when you log events in your head about what is actually important.

when you read books, don't try to speed read without understanding what is going on, such habbit makes you a sloppy writer in return. good practice makes for good skills to be harbored when you try to put thoughts on paper. but don't forget that many good writers started out where you are at right now. start small, think big.

you have other people look at your writing and suggest feedback, there isn't really a better way to finalize papers unless your a literature savvy pro.

don't wry man, my english sucks too. but when it comes to writing papers, you want a good grade, you gotta revise it up to 7 times man. at least that's me, better safe than sorry.

Two things you can do to better your English. Read a lot as most of the post above me have said and talk to someone in English. Find a topic you can enjoy so you are more at ease when you speak about it.

Don't read or post here.
It's amazing how many people here don't know how to use a spell checker (like the one built in to Firefox)

As for grammar, your on your own ;)

You need to post a lot and after a lot of insults you will become numb, that?s it.

Write and read it back, write it again and read it back, first you need to be able to make logic structures in English, not only in your native language.

In high school, I was required to do many, many, many hours of exercises from this book.

I hated it at the time, but it has been one of the best investments I ever made. I actually just bought two from eBay. One for a friend who is learning English, and one for me.

Your first sure step to better English is to leave ATOT immediately and never return.

I am entirely serious. English usage here is debilitatingly bad. And, make no mistake, proximity to mediocrity engenders mediocrity.

Like fleas or a lovely little std, you will only pick up bad habits here, and they will cling to you like goku to his barbie doll.

I can tell you for a fact that my spelling has deteriorated simply from my years of swimming in this fetid cesspool of rediculousosityness.
