How can I make a lockable plexiglass box?

I'm trying to make a lockable plexiglass box that I can put my alarm into. Right now I always wake u padn turn my alarm off, I'm going to put the key in its own little lock box which I have to pen uisng a combo. Then tkae the key from the coded box and open the alarm box so I can turn off the alarm... I'm hoping by then I'll be awake enough to know I need to be up 😛

Is there any chance anyone knows how difficult it would be for me to make something like this? Other than plexiglass and a lock, what do I need to get to make this work? and what is the best way to do this for anyone who is an experienced craftsman?

All I need is one plug sized hole in the back so I can take the plug out, and tons of little holes all around it so that the sound isn't contained in the least.

Wouldn't simply putting your alarm clock on the other side of the room be a little easier? 😕

Bah! Simultaneous post.

cutting plexiglass isnt typically a very fun experience. make sure you are very gentle and dont make rapid movements with the drill. it is very easy to break it into pieces if you are drilling holes in it and you go too fast. just make a wooden frame and cut pieces of plexi to fit around it. drill holes slightly larger than whatever screw you want to use, screw it on, and installed a locking mechanism by cutting holes and putting a padlock through them.

edit: Text

i made that to have an mp3 server at school plugged into the network at all times. maybe you could try doing something like that, except modify it slightly to have a more easily accessible interior.

That's true, and I have tried that. However, sometimes I can even get up, walk to the alarm, turn it off, and fall right back asleep. Without really doing any of that consciously.

then maybe your problem is lack of sleep and you need to seek medical help.

I have a doctors appointment tommorow to discuss it with my doc, however, is there really anything that they can do?

We use a PTFE coated router table with an oscillating mill to cut cell cast and a pair of CO2 laser stations for welding as well as an air blast welder. Acrylic can be made to look like one cast piece if you're good. 🙂

What do you want to do again?
