How can I learn math?

I will be attending a new college this fall and need to take a math assessment test. I tested at Math 90 last time, because I haven't taken a math class in 2 years (algebra 3) and I forget many basics. If reminded I think I can test much better than I did previously.

What are some good tools to teach yourself math? I'd prefer something off the internet as I find it hard to study off a computer monitor.

wow...I guess it depends on the test, find out what subject it is on. then google search for study guides. there is tons of free sat type stuff out there
what is algebra 3, i took precalc and calc after alg 2

We had a different system at my high school called Integrated Math. I actually took Integrated math 3, which is in their charts most of algebra 3 and some of algebra 4. That's what they called it but its probably precalc and calc.

Check out a book store. Borders and Barnes and Noble both have "Mathematics" sections. They have a bunch of great books that teach all levels. I was browsing through the other day and saw a few that looked great.

That's what I'd like to do but I was hoping for some study guide recommendations

studying off SATII math IIc review books should be sufficient.

but you definitely want to get a hold of an outline of the topics covered on the exam

I have those same damn integrated classes. I went from int 3 to precalc to calc. Guess the only way to re-learn the math is to practice it and do it.

They were great in high school because I never did any work, but afterwards the integrated classes suck. I'm strongly opposed to taking a remedial class though, because I only need to take one math course above 100 and qualify for basic economics and science courses.
