Help, I can't keep my little brogther from my machine and the internet while I was away. I used WinMe and third party software for password. But my little found out that he could get in my machine by getting to safe mode and get to the internet. My mom is screaming at me because he never do any study, always chat all day long, like it is my fault. If I installed Win2000, would it solve my problem? Can he still bypass the system? Thanks in advance. :|

With win 2k you can lock him out all together or you can specify what times he can log on. If he is logged on and one of those time rolls around it will boot him. I love win 2k. Never thought I would say that but I do. What type of computer do you have? RAM, Processor, etc?

And no, he won't be able to bypass it, as long as you keep another username and password secret from him and only let him have the one username.

You could just set the BIOS startup password. If the system is a relatively new one, he won't even be able to get around that by disconnecting the MB battery or using a reset jumper.

It is possible to beat Windows 2000 password protection, but it requires software tools or at least a W2K install CD.
