How can I improve reception on my Sprint phone?

It seems as if I can get reception just about anywhere except right around where I live. I get about 1 or 2 bars max in my room, which is downstairs, but if I head upstairs I get a 3 or 4 bars.

I actually lost my real antenna that came with the phone, and put in a screw which actually fits perfectly.

No actually my friend has the exact same phone, original antenna and all, and I tend to get the same reception as him.

I hate to say it, but I think you are stuck unless you get another phone. I highly recommend the Sanyo's(especially the non-folding style) through Sprint.

Umm, go to the roof of a tall building and throw it really, REALLY high into the air. Don't catch it on its way back down, then walk over to the nearest Verizon or Cingular store. :p

Uncjigga pretty much has it correct. Where I live half the time the phone doesn't ring and when it does the call usually drops within a couple of minutes. There is NO WAY to boost the reception of a digital phone. Your only hope is a cellular provider with a closer tower.
For me I don't give a crap. I just tell people to call my home phone.

I own a cellular telephone store and have sold sprint, cingular, voicestream, and AT&t. After years of hearin feedback from our customers we have concluded that sprint's reception is awful.. They do have the coolest looking phones with tri band and many other features, but even if they have 1000000000000 bands their reception will still suck.. Go grab an AT&T or Verizon cell phone. They rock.. If you want an AT&T phone.. lmk.. ;)
