How can I hook up my PS2 to my computer monitor?

I've got a Viewsonic P220f monitor.

Did I mention that the solution needs to be cheap? ;-)

It has BNC inputs such as it would except a COAX tv signal? If so, get a converter from Composite to Coax, easiest/cheapest would probably be a VCR

you need a video card with a video in and a soundcard with a line In plug video into sound card, get Y adapter that is RCA to mini and plug into sound card

you = good to go

Can be used for any type of coaxial cable.

Monitors w/ BNC connectors have 3 connections, so the "component" reference is correct right?

Using the regular A/V cable from a PS2 output, Anubis' idea sounds correct IMO :)

Plug the yellow plug (the video cable of the composite out of the PS2) into the video card's video input, and get an RCA-mini adapter and plug the two channels of sound into one end, and the other end into the line input of the sound card.

As stated prior, an inexpensive video card should prove a suitable solution (if the present card does not have VI already).

Of course, another solution would be to pick up a 2005FPW or 2001FP as they have many VI options. Not as cheap, but certainly full of ancillary benefits.

You have a few options.

A. If you have a new LCD monitor, it may have YCrCb component inputs, or Svideo, composite.
B. If you have an All in Wonder, or standard video capture card, plug in through that (usually just svideo or composite unless youre rich).
C. Some DV Cameras have video passthrough. Connect the PS2 to the AV in, and DV to the firewire ports on your PC.
D. Get a VGA Box, which many are unreliable and only available in Hong Kong.

As far as I know, BNC will only work with composite (if you have one BNC connector only). The PS2 outputs over component in two methods, YCrCb (YUV) or RGB (which doesnt stand for red green blue, in this case it is referring to the European SCART connection) I tried component to my old monitors BNC "RGB" connectors and it did not work in either mode.

Yes, that is component, but its an old form of component called RGB (red green blue) which is not used with the PS2.

This is the VGA Box I ended up getting.

NOTE! It's not perfect. The VGA Passthrough on it is not very good for me, it ghosts my computer input. The component input is fine when you adjust the brightness and contrast (it starts off overbright). The svideo and composite connections are a little weak.

Unless you're not using this monitor with a computer attached, your best bet would be an AIW or similar as mentioned above. You can get a dirt cheap one.

Would a PCI AIW card work? or does it have to be AGP? Also, will having 2 vid cards in one box be a problem?

I use a Vdigi VD-Z3, and they work great - but are ONLY compatible with progressive scan games (something the PS2 has very few of).

Some TV Tuner cards have a bit of "delay", making action-intensive games somewhat hard to play. AIW cards usually do not have this.
