I never said *you* called for a return of their empire - I commented about others attacking the UK, who you seem to ally with while not agreeing with on the issues.

You lie pretty completely about my positions - you claim I want a return to their empire I said there's plenty of reason to hate them for, that they were 'sons of bitches', etc.

You claim I praised their caste system, when I did not and in fact criticize the concentration of wealth, pointing out that it's higher in the US - so you're inconsistent.

It's a good question, for me there is certain distain for certain individuals that makes sense, and is often mistaken as hate.

Hate, as you say is quite draining. For me I reserve hating for something that is truly worth only.

They didn't make a choice between empire and democracy. They were defeated by third-world civilians. Their empire crumbled in a spectacular fashion. What they were left with is at best a pseudo-democracy.

They're not perfect, but have done pretty good. I'd say they deserve a lot more praise than criticism for that - as we face some of the same issue with global empire.

They were one of the most evil organizations to ever be set upon humanity. Would you claim that the Nazis deserve a lot more praise than criticism? Of course not, yet the British make the Nazis look like children. The British slaughtered hundreds of millions throughout the centuries and all over the world. Rare is a country that was spared British brutality.

The sad thing is that it actually doesn't fully explain the cost of the royal family. For example, the royal family costs more than 40 million pounds - that's the number that the royals want you to believe.

And it goes beyond financial aspects, even into the mental state of the people. I do feel that if the UK abandoned its caste system and people there were allowed to have some self esteem and backbone, then you would like them a lot more.

Craig just has a bizarre version of history, one where the British were generous benevolent people who just randomly decided spread democracy to the world, didn't rape and murder hundreds of millions of people, and just generally were pleasant to their slave colonies.

I'm sorry, but if an entire society reduces itself to peasant status, then that society doesn't have much of a backbone. I sure as hell wouldn't accept a caste system. It must take a people with a very low self esteem to accept one.

Very true, I'm against caste systems, obviously a lot of the things the british empire did were awful. Just like the Roman empire before that.

But the UK has no caste system, the UK has no british empire anymore, we don't do those things any more.

He needs to move on, like the rest of the world has. We are a fantastic country, we have a monarchy, which for the most part we like. They cost little, we have a democracy, we vote the laws into legislation that we as a nation support. So why argue? He doesn't like it? Tough. We are where we are at in terms of politics through choices the nation has made.

The UK and the USA are essentially the same, born from the same place, with some different ideas but that's fine, if we were completely the same how dull would the world be? The UK has got somethings right that the USA has got wrong and vice-versa.

It's part of the royal brainwashing of the people. I wonder if something is put into the water to make the masses have lower self esteem and to accept their lower caste position. Perhaps the royals put some sort of chemical compound into the water to accomplish this...maybe it also degrades the condition tooth enamel, which would also explain why British people generally have disgusting teeth.
