I have a large number of wedding negatives we received from our photographer. I would like to digitize them so I can print them up, make DVDs etc.

Anyone have any experience with this or know a company that does it? I know there is hardware out there I can buy to do this but that would take way too long.

How much would it run?

You can get a flatbed scanner with a slide attachment. That should work. It would take a long time though.

Getting a Photo CD (I think that's right...) would do it for you, I believe. It's either the Kodak Picture or Photo CD. One of them does multiple sizes/scans of each pic. Kinda spendy, but it was what I was considering for my wedding pics, other than getting a new, good-quality flatbed.

Yep, time is the biggest factor for me. Scanning 1,500 negatives doesn't sound like fun.

The thing is, all of the pictures were on the web at one point (on the photographers website). I asked where they got it done and they said it is through a contracted company who does high volume stuff. Oh well...
