I've been trying to use my bluetooth headset with my bluetooth dongle, but I've had some problems pairing my headset. The skype forum people told me that it's because XP SP2 bluetooth drivers don't support headsets, so I installed widcomm 4.0.1.700 drivers (and under bluetooth devices there are Bluetooth Bus Enumerator and ISSC USB Bluetooth device, both Widcomm drivers (no MS drivers).) I also tried BlueSoleil drivers previously.
I can connect my nokia to the dongle and use PC Suite no problem, and I can use my Jabra BT250 with my phone no problem, but when I try connecting my BT250 to the dongle, after I enter the security code (which works fine when connecting to my phone), the taskbar pops up the message 'error in pairing with device jabra 250. reason : authentication failed, try pairing again.' and a dialogue box says 'there was a security error, you may need to redo pairing.'
This happens every time I try connecting. Also, I paired the headset before connecting, and it seemed to pair OK, but when I try connecting, it asks me for the security code again, and then gives those messages.
Anyone with any suggestion regarding what to try next, I woud love to hear it. Thanks!
