I'm sorry....I know this is the wrong forum, but I also know this is the forum where most people look, and I need to get an answer soon if anyone can help. Sorry mods...won't happen again:

I have a Canon-A40 digital camera and want to take a very short video clip and put it into my powerpoint presentation for a class, but it says....

"Cannot display this type of sound or movie"

Anyone know how I can do this? I'm pretty sure it's in AVI format. Thanks

You can take movie files into Powerpoint. The only problem that you may have is if you need a video codec to play it. (Meaning that you might have this presentation working perfectly on your home computer, but when you take it to class it may not play the movie because the codec doesn't exist on that computer.)

Can someone define "embed" vs "link" and how I would go about doing that? I'm using my own laptop for the presentation and just hooking it up to a projector.

Thanks again and sorry for the mispost, I'm just desperate here.
