How can I get my AVI file into a Powerpoint Presentation?

I have a Canon-A40 digital camera and want to take a very short video clip and put it into my powerpoint presentation for a class, but it says....

"Cannot display this type of sound or movie"

Anyone know how I can do this? Thanks

I put it in there too...wasn't really sure. I figured "Video"---->AVI.....hence the post. My bad...
