how can I get cable TV audio on my home theater?

so its one of those HTIB deals. I'd like to b e able to watc cable tv and listen to it on the speaker system.

i have an old rca tv with a set of rca inputs. but no rca outputs.

is it possible?

You need a cable box or VCR, so you can do video out to tv and audio out to another device.

yup...cable box ftw. Sign up for digital cable...usually only $10/mo in most places.

Just checking - you have a set of RCA inputs on the receiver, right?

Some of the really POS ones have very limited inputs on them and have an integraded DVD player as pretty much your only source option

Make sure you set boxtop audio out to advanced.
