How can I get ATA133 on a Gigabyte GA-81EXP MoBo?

Hi
I have a Gigabyte GA-81EXP Motherboard and a Seagate 60 Gig 7200 RPM Hard Drive that is capable of ATA133.

Does anybody know if the ATA133 is "only" available on the RAID interface or is it available on the EIDE interface as well? The bios just says it will do 33/100 for the EIDE.

Im suspecting that I can only do ATA133 with the RAID drivers... however, I only have 1 hard drive. Will RAID work with one hard drive? (Just to get the ATA133 out of it).

Im kinda stumped with this. I believe my older Asus A7V133 did ATA133 on the normal EIDA channels...

Thanks for any info.

Just use ata-100 more than fast enough since the drive will have a hard time using all of ata-66.

I have never heard of a Seagate drive with an ATA133 interface. Maxtor is the only one to use that spec that I have ever heard of.

the raid controller on the ga-8iexp is also a standard ide controller. change your bios setting & you're good to go.

ATA-133 is mostly marketing. Someone sees that on the box instead of ata-100 so it must be faster.
