How can I get AMD's heat sink and fan out of my CPU without breaking

Hi,

I have just set up mu AMD T-bird 900mhz and ASUS A7V Mobo. I put the original heatsink and fan from AMD. But I realized that it is not doing a good job. CPU heat was around 58 Celcius.

I have purchased 2Cool PC or something like that chasis fan. It brought the temp down to 52C. But I already purchase that thermaltakes chrome orb CPU fan.

But I cannot get rid off AMD's heatsink and fan. It is stuck there and I have to apply to much force that I know I will break the socket. Is there any trick to get it out safely

thehammer, in all seriousness, how do you remove the retail HSF with a butter knife? Saw away for 2000 hours? LOL

wreckhunter, I myself don't really know, but some people have mentioned using a pair of needlenose pliers to pull the clips off the socket.
