How can I fix my ping?

My ping has been very high lately and its messing up my game. My ping never used to be has high as it was. im running around 150 to 200 ping and it used to be down around 50. Any suggestions?

check you speed with your provider

do a speed test with http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/[/L]

do a trace route test and see where the slowness is.

If your pings are high, it might be your ISP. Also routers can add some time to the ping but normally not enough to make them really high.

If your connected to a router or something...disconnect and than connect a ethernet cable directly to cable modem see if it your ping goes down.How's your internet?

Could be, though if that were the case, his ping would be in the thousands, not in the 200-300 range.

I guess a malware scan wouldn't be out of order if the OP's got something that's phoning back home and clogging his connection.

I'm not using any p2p. I will contact my ISP tomorro and see whats up.
