OK, when I click the 'Mesgs' and scroll down to and click 'SMS', I see an open envelope icon for each text message listed 1-5, then I see the beginnings of the text message. No phone number.

Hrmmmm... I use text messages more often than not, so that's what I'm familiar with, but I thought that SMS worked the same on the i710... I guess I was wrong. :( Is there a properties or envelope button that appears after you open the message?

Nope, just the message and the date and time.

:( Sorry dude... I guess I was wrong - it doesn't work the way I thought it did then (and I'm not in a service area right now, or I'd try to figure it out for you).
