I am using a 2.0 PCI USB Controller on my old computer. It works fine. Mine is two ports, I know they make three port, and believe they make four port. Got mine from Belkin. A USB 1.0 device plugged into this card will run at 1.0 speed, a 2.0 device will run at 2.0. I'vegot a new computer with 6 USB ports. The manual says they are all 2.0, my devices run fast, so I guess they're 2.0. I can't check on this comp right now, but wouldn't it show in Sys Info or the BIOS?

If u have usb 2.0 ports, in device manager (win xp) under Universal bus controllers would be a listing for USB Enhanced Host Controllers.

Adding a PCI usb 2.0 card will not upgrade your existing usb ports. The pci card would have usb 2.0 ports on the card itself.

On usb devices, there would be a sticker or logo saying USB 2.0 Hi-Speed. That's true usb 2.0.
