how can I find out exactly when an IPO starts trading?

I've been missing out on some great IPOs lately, there are a few coming up that I really want to get in on as soon as they start trading. How can I know exactly when a stock starts trading? Is there some type of free alert service that will send me an e-mail? Do any online brokers allow you to specify that you want to buy XX amount of shares in a company as soon as it begins trading?
