How can I figure out what motherboard brand and type I currently have?

Yeah, just take the side panel off and look! Shut it down first. ;)
You may be able to see the rev# too if you just look at it. Some boards have several rev#'s that may not show up under Sandra. Most likely, though, the rev# isn't too important.

how old is this board .. if this is older .. then your gonna need to find the serial number on the board, or the fcc id number, there's a chance you see the serial number on POST screem, at the bottom when the memory is counted .. take this number and go to motherboards.org , they have a MoboFinder or whateer its called, should identify it .. good luck ..
