I have an old ribbon cable which I don't know the maximum speed of.
Is it udma 100 or maybe udma 133 (or something else)?

Any ideas on how I can figure it out?

usually 100 and 133 are the same, just that someone decided to give theirs a diff name for some odd reason...

There's only 2 types of IDE ribbon cable, 40 conductor(up to ATA33) and 80 conductor(ATA66 and beyond). In both cases only 40 wires are used for data transmission. The 40 conductor ones have thicker individual strands while the 80 conductor ones have thinner individual strands. If you have 1 of either type that you know, it will be immediately obvious if another is the same or not.
