When i try to boot into Win ME I get an IOsubsys may be corrupt error. i did a scandisk and it foudn the error and fixed it, so i rebooted and I got the error again, now scandisk won't find it. So i just want to do a restore, but I can't get into Win ME, is there another way to do it. I have a dual boot with Win 2K if that helps any.

i am not sure what you mean by restore? you mean a restore CD or a winme CD? if its a restore CD then its usually bootable, set it in the bios to boot from CDROM before HD then reboot, if its a regular win me CD, then make a bootdisk or download one from bootdisk.com, then boot using the disk and start winme setup from prompt

Instal ME again over top of it then restore, will that work?

Thats what I would do in 98SE and a restore program.

Never put ME on my own machine, nor left restore stuff enabled on customer's machines (resource hog). But assuming the fesh windows install does not overwrite the restore files, yes.

Maybe go in via dos and rename the restore folder restore_bak or something to be safe.
