How can I distinguish windows copies?

I have three computers, and three copies of Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm about to rebuild two of the computers and will need to reinstall the OS on those two. The problem is I can't remember which computer I installed which copy on. 😕

How can I tell which copy is on which computer? The activation key isn't the same as the product id that shows up after its activated.

I'm not completely sure what you're asking. I guess you have retail, or retail-like copies so the key isn't on the machine? If that's the case, try using Winguggle...

I haven't used this myself, but it looks like MagicalJellyBean keyfinder doesn't work in the free version for Win7, and Google search provided this to recover keys.

Edit:

On further looking, it appears MagicalJellyBean may find Win7 keys. It couldn't hurt to try. I've used that before on XP systems. Keep in mind it may trigger your A/V software, but it's a safe program if you get it from a trusted download.

Edit:
Clarification that Google didn't write the first program. I just noticed the way I wrote it made it appear as though they did.
