i know people usually ask for ways to clear history in iexplorer...
but i was wondering if i can disable that button... so people won't be able to clear history.

is there a way?

Just write a program that takes all the info that is written to the history folder, and copies it to another folder. So when they hit "delete history" they will still think it is deleted, but can still go check your copied folder and it will all be there. The history is all in a folder in the "Documents and Settings" subfolder, can't be that hard to set it to auto-copy every 30 seconds.

do this (assuming your in win2k)

set the history settings to how you want them (100 days or something)

click the start button, then click run

type mmc and hit enter

click on the console menu, then click add/remove snap-in

click the add button

add the group policy option.

click ok on the add/remove snap-in box

now click on the user configuration option, then administrative templates, then internet explorer

the option you want to change is the disable history settings - enable that

now people cant clear the history

Beast1284, if you want to discuss threadnapping, why not start your own thread. We're talking history here.
