how can i deleting vista folders w/ subdirectories in startmenu?

Using vista home basic. For some programs like hostmanager, the program is installed in start menu under a folder called 'a-something' and a subfolder called 'hostman'. I don't have permission to delete the a-something folder and have to delete the hostman folder first, and then delete the a-something folder second. I'm logged in as default user w/ admin rights. How can I prevent vista from controlling what i can/can't delete?
