How can I customize installer packages?

I've had some success making a copy of my fully patched games so that I can clone them by running the cd in a new pc and then copying the game folder and avoid running all the patches. I've even successfully installed Battlefield 1942 by simply plugging in a dozen registry entries that I backed up and then dragging the folder over from my backup disk.

Is there a way to strip down the game's install file so it only changes the registry? I am so sick of running a 30 minute installation and then swapping the disk to the next pc and so on. If I could even just edit the installer package so that it copies blank files or something...

Please help! thanks.

It appears that you are making a de facto request for help quickly installing the same game license on many computers, which is piracy. Thread locked.

What kind of games are you playing that require a 30 minute install?!?

I usually rip ISOs of my game discs so that way I don't have to worry about scratches down the road, and those install wicked fast.

most games like company of heroes or crysis. they create over a thousand new registry entries and have to unpack up to 8GB of files.

I don't think I have yet to encounter a game that I couldn't just copy and not install. Have reloaded windows several times and never reinstalled a single game.
