Like what programs they use, not allowing them to change settings on FF/IE, not viewing program files, etc?

Thanks so much...can afford to have my family give my computer any more viruses.

Just create a regular user login rather than an administrator account. I don't think that's going to do everything you're looking to do but it's a start. Do that, get a good Antivirus program, and install Spywareblaster/Spybot S&D and have them use Firefox instead of IE.

You'll need to use local security policies to lock down things like IE's settings and you can't not let them view Program Files, otherwise a lot of things won't work.

Yeah, but isn't that going to also affect all of the local users (including administrators)? I've messed with local policies to lock a system and it wound up being more trouble than it was worth because even as the admin I couldn't modifiy the system anymore.

any tips with that program? seems a little hardcore. i thought itd be easier to just set up a guest acct with limited functions. thanks...this wants me to set up partitions and all sorts of stuff.
