How can I convert divx movies to format playable on windows mobile?

Guys,

I bought a new phone at VZ, the samsung i760 with windows mobile 6 pro. I tried playing a divx movie on it but it didnt work. I then tried converting the divx movie to mp4 formet with Alive MP4 converter, but it gave me an unspecified error.

Does anyone know the solution? How can I convert a divx movie so that it will play on my phone? Also is there a way to shrink the movie in size?
