I have 1 ghz AMD... and 2 modems, 1 ISA (US Robotics Hardware Modem, ISA) and a PCI WinModem... somehow the Winmodem always connects at 51k and way faster while the USR Robotics ISA V.Everything connects way slower @ 46-48k only all the time. All are from the same line and computer. Strangely even when I tried changing the config strings it is still the same only at 48k only checked with countless sites on config strings. Is there some parameter on the EPOX board (8kta2) that will allow me to connect faster a little ? or something in Win2k that allows me to do so. Please advise. Thanks and appreciate

I just think the Courier modem is more accurate and will maintain that speed better than the Winmodem anyway. The numbers u get is only the initial connection, ur modems will retrain to lower speeds (or faster) based on the line noise. Courier modems are more sensitive to line noise but handles it a lot better than any modem (in my opinion).
