How can I check to see if I am logged in as Admin in Win XP?

I am not sure if my computer starts up in Admn mode or not. I have no log in screen to select different users, which there is really no need for that bc I am the only one using my computer. If it is logged in on something other than Admin, how do I default it to automatically log in as Admin? Thanks

You can shutdown--->logoff and see what shows up on your logon screen.

Or go into control panel--->users and look at what users are setup there.

easiest way is to open a cmd prompt and type "echo %USERNAME%", without the quote marks of course.

Doesn't it tell you when you press ctrl-alt-del? Or was it in classic mode only??

If you only have 1 account in XP it will only be the admin account and if you have set it up to log in automatically then you will always log into that account.

i cant remember for sure, only installed XP once and I've been using it since, but doesnt the install force you to create a user account? then the default login is like your first name, and you have admin access to everything but your username isn't actually "Administrator", although that account does exist, what can you not do as the default login that you can logged in as administrator ?

If you set XP to bypass the logon screen, you should have Admin. Just go to the computer management and check the user profiles for level of access.
