How can i bypass firewall?

I'm trying to play this game (Subspace--yes I know its ancient) at work but it says I can't get an internet connection even though I can browse webpages ok. I am on the LAN. Im suspecting that it's because I'm behind a firewall. Does any have any idea how I can get around this?

does work know that you are doing this? you might want to talk to your admin, and ask him, sometimes they dont approve of such things cause of network security integrity.

Unless the Network Administrator doesn't know what he's doing (which would be highly unlikely) you are going to need him to help you set this up.

Well, if your LAN uses a proxy server to access webpages/email etc, then you'd have to set that up in the game which i highly doubt is possible.

I am a sytem Admin and I can tell you I get very pissed when employee's try to compromise the firewall internally :Q

As an NT and security admin, I shut people like you down for a long time. Of course, we're working on sensitive projects and such things are against policy.

But....if it's really important to you, and it's not on company time, go ahead and ask. I personally appreciate it when a user asks the helpdesk, or myself, if such things are ok. I'd rather they ask first.
