I've burn some before using this trial software and it burnt them as wma's. Does any 1 know any software that will burn cd's as mp3s.

Also I dont have the cord from my soundcard to the cd rom because my cd rom doesnt have the port. Does that make any difference in burning the mp3's.

Thank you

just burn the tracks as a data cd, that shouldn't convert them to anything. i know it works with easy cd creator, just make sure you select data cd.

and no, not having a cord from your soundcard to your cd-rom won't make any difference.

With EZ-CD Creator, if the files are stored on your system as MP3s, you can mount a blank CD, format it and treat it just like a regular hard drive.
Drag the MP3s to the drive icon (in Windows) and then unmount the CD when finished.

The MP3s can not be played in a regular CD system automatically unless you have some type of MP3 reader.

I dont have a burner.

I wanna burn some of my music cd's onto my hdd as mp3's so i can listen to them on winamp.

I would have though that telling you's that my cd rom is too old for the music cd pins would have made u assume that im too cheap to buy a burner =]

Where can I download ez cd creator

I probably should have used the word rip instead of burn. Im an idiot.

I was talken about burnen a cd before I wrote this message and I mixed them up.

I just want to rip the cd as mp3 on my hdd. So what program would I use to do that.

yes thats "ripping" cd's. Burning is using a cdr/cdrw drive.

The best ripper is EAC or an easy one is musicmatch. I think if you use EAC it will create .wav files and then might want to convert them to mp3's to save space, but winamp plays both. Someone else can suggest the right utility for that, but eac is the best or most accurate ripper.

For burning just use Nero, it's the best CD burning software, hands down.

Lame/EAC for extractiing/compressing. CDEX is nice, too and can use LAME.

The best ripper is EAC or an easy one is musicmatch. The only thing about EAC that I dont understand is it only rips to 128kbps at best. How can I get it to rip higher?!?!?!?! Is it possible? Still a good program though.

The FAQ by Workin' explained why EAC is slower:

Why not use Musicmatch Jukebox or AudioGrabber or some other ripping program? EAC reads the audio data one sector at a time, then reads it again, compares the 2 reads, and if they match, moves to the next one. If the 2 reads of a sector don't match, EAC reads it again and again until 2 reads match - and if that doesn't happen it flags an error for you so you know the rip wasn't perfect. NO other program does this. One drawback is that EAC is slooowww at reading a disc compared to those other programs. Most of the time you won't see rip speeds higher than about 4x using EAC, while the others might report 12x or more. The difference is the other programs just rip the data, don't check it, and don't let you know if there was a problem. Speed or quality, at the moment you can't have both!

Download MusicMatch. Put in music CD. Click "record" button. If you're connected to the internet, the CDDB will download album and track names, record them all, set track tags properly, and save them in whatever general fold you specified in the setup with subfolder for artist, then subfolder for album. :)

all you gotta do is click "record" :)

<edit> oops, I didn't see that I already posted in this thread. I thought this was yet another thread about burning MP3's.
