I am getting this blue mountainecard.pif virus in a email, NOrton keeps catching it but they email me it every hour, how can I block it or stop this nonsense, I do have SystemWorks2003 and Personal Firewall installed but can't find a way to stop them from sending it over and over.
I am using Outlook Express for my ATTbi account.

HELP!!!

the only way to reliably stop it would be to get the sender to stop. even if you setup the outlook filters you would still have the same problems with norton catching them.

the other thing you could look into would be server-side blocking, you may want to see if the attbi service (or now comcast I think...) has filtering on their mail servers. You could log into their web-based e-mail access to verify this.

I don't know if Outlook has this feature, but it is implemented in Eudora. You can have it set so that email meeting certain criteria (a certain sender, domain, subject content) gets deleted straight away. You can see if your provider will block traffic from that sender as well. Other than that, just turn down the alerting level on your virus scanner... it will still kill the infection but you should not have to deal with the alerts.

What is the name of the company that keeps sending you the infected file?

You can also install and run a pre-download checker such as MailWasher Pro - it will ID virus files and delete them off the server BEFORE you download them. It can also bounce the file back to the sender. :)

I use Juno as my email service now for about 6 years. Will Mailwasher work with Juno?

I believe in Outlook Express if you goto to Message then click on Block Sender that will take care of your problem too..
