i mean, does the doctor run tests on you to see if you qualify?? i don't have a personal doctor. and i read up on valium on the web, its habit forming in as short as 2 weeks. then whats the point of this medication? i mean you take it for 2 weeks, and stop, and you're back to square one. or do you cycle it off and on.??

find your local drug dealer. i'm sure they'll point you in the direction of a doctor who will prescribe you anything you want.

it's so easy to get valium. Diazepam is sold as Valium, so make sure you ask for generics, it's cheaper.

I can't sleep, so my doctor give me a note for that. it's $10 co-pay, and another $10 for 90 pils (30 days supply supposely, my god, I only need one, once in awhile....)

You don't need tests. Just tell the doctor you have been under stress and have trouble falling asleep.

Valium isn't exactly for your type of anxiety or stress though. You seem to be more of a candidate for Zoloft or Paxil.

Some Doctors like to take you off the drug after 2 weeks because they don't want you to grow dependent on it. Meaning you become a drug addict basically.

Sounds like you need Paxil Not Valium which is a depressant.

That's what I was going to say. Although, I have heard fun stories about Paxil (i.e. It's almost impossible to reach orgasm while taking it).

That said, I'm on Wellbutrin for depression and at one point my regular doctor put me on Valium because I was having some chest pains he thought might be caused by the Wellbutrin. Long story short, I took Valium for about a week before I started feeling like crap again and went back on Wellbutrin. As far as I know, all you need is a prescription from a doctor to get Valium.

If you tell him you have trouble falling asleep you'll probably get Ambien, not valium.

Sounds like you have social anxiety disorder. You should try Paxil CR or Effexor XR. Paxil works wonders for it (from experience)

seriously wtf? why don't you just tell your doctor about your problems so he can figure out what the RIGHT medicine is for you instead of taking crap shots with medicine you obviously know jack sh1t about? just my 2 cents

Why do you want to take it?

If you have a mental imbalance or think that you are in need of that type of drug in the first place, you need to be assessed. The doctor will decide what you need. Chances are if you just ask for it, you will not get it.

I work in a dr.'s office, and a lot of the people we see have some form of anxiety disorder. I personally would go with Effexor XR over Paxil CR, just because of the nasty side effects of suddenly stopping the Paxil.

Valium is usually only prescribed in a 14-day supply due to its habit-forming effect, and usually it's only for people that need help falling asleep, although Xanax and Ambien are more commonly prescribed now.

Definitely speak to your physician regarding the anxiety/depression. It CAN be controlled.
