How can Bud light only have 6.6 grams of carbs, .9 grams of protien, and no fat?

All values are from www.budlight.com, for a 12 ounce serving.

Using 'calorie math' so to speak, bud light should only have:

carbs = 6.6 x 4 = 26.4 calories
protien = .9 x 4 = 3.6 calories
fat = 0 x 9.5 = 0 calories

Total = 30 calories

Advertised on their site = 110 calories

These are the only places where calories can come from... what is going on there?

Thanks for the input
Josh

They added in a calorie estimate for the bar snacks likely to be ingested while drinking a Bud Light?

Or are they not calculating in the alcohol source, which is 4.2%/vol.

110 - 30 = 80 calories / 4.2 = ~19 calories per percent of alcohol?

Alcohol isn't a carbohydrate to my knowledge...

But, the remaining calories come from alcohol.

I'm not sure on this fact one way or the other. However, it is more a matter of how they are required to test the sample and not how much energy the body can actually use, IIRC.

Bud Light has alcohol. What Bud Light doesnt have is what I like to refer to as "flavor of the non-ass kind".

Yeah, it's do to Alcohol calories, their "empty calories", they still go towards your daily intake of total kcals but are completley nutrionally useless.

I've never seen globules of fat floating in beer - have you ?
Just like sugar - they don't add fat to it, your body processes what you don't use in energy as stored fat - an energy source.

I was thinking that was the case, but I don't understand why'd joke about beer not having alcohol..

Perhaps I'm the autistic one, because now I can't tell if you're serious or joking. :laugh:
