Recently I saw a deal for a really old wireless monitor that was blackandwhite, and $50. Today I saw them talking about wireless monitors on techtv, and watching them has gotten me interested in them. I don't want a 10-year old crappy black and white one, but I would like a decently sized color one. Do any of you have any experience with them, or know where I could get one? I like the idea of being able to walk around my house, and use my computer with a touchscreen monitor. My 56k has been really crappy as of late, and they havent finished updating cable boxes and such in my area. That's the main reason I am not searching through everything on google, and am instead asking you guys. Thanks.

Think about the amount of bandwidth your video signal is, especially if you use truecolor (i.e. 1600x1200x24bitx85Hz = 489.6 MBYTES/s. There is not a single PC network card on the market today that can do this, with or without wires. If they were actually capable of an affordable wireless signal that could do this is would replace pretty much ALL networking technology.

Not to mention that if the neighbors buy the same brand monitor they can probably watch all your pr0n.

In other words, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

P.S. If the monitor is truly wireless how do you power it?

Yeah, I wasnt really expecting the resolution to be too great on a wireless flat monitor thats only about 10". But on tech TV today on their microsoft insider, I saw them using one as a normal monitor of decent size, in which they could just pick up off the stand and move. They also had the other, smaller wireless monitor, which they could walk around and use a stylus to act as a mouse. An on-screen keyboard could also come up for you to use if you wanted to. I missed part of the show that they were talking about them, but from what I did see, they looked pretty nice.

I know that Microsoft is making such monitors for next year, but I question the practicality and don't believe for a minute that they will have a reasonable resolution/screen update rate/etc. The first time I read about them on inquierer 2 months ago I laughed. A lot. I think you would be much better off with the thing acting as a PDA/laptop hybrid than actually trying to broadcast a video signal like that.

If you are referring to the old black and white one, which came out like 10 years ago, Here is the link to it, and HERE is the link to the forum post I made in relation to the $50 deal.
