How big would a planetary body have to be so that you could not jump off it?

I have this weird recurring dream where I wake up in a space suit on some planetary body I have no idea what it is. But its like a big asteroid. And I'm terrified to move hardly at all because I'm worried its gravity might be so weak that I would fly off it.

So, basically, how big would a planetary body have to be so that a reasonable sized adult (say 260 lbs) could not escape its gravitational pull even if he jumped as hard as he can? Not looking for an exact number, just more/less, of course. I want to know so maybe next time I have that dream I will feel more comfortable to move around and jump and dance and have fun if the rock seems big enough LOL.

It depends on how fast you want to come back down. Anyway, 60 ksmoot in diameter should be plenty, assuming earthlike planetary density and that you're not too weeny.

260 lbs isn't a reasonable weight for an adult male unless said adult is over 7 feet tall. Sadly, I'm closer to the former than I am to the latter.

6'2" (closer to 6'3"), and chalk full of muscles, 260 is right there.

Real answer:
Modify the inputs to achieve an escape velocity of ~1.5 m/sec.

BTW, 60 ksmoot is in the ballpark.

That's almost twice my weight, and I feel I can lose a few pounds. I can't imagine being that weight, it would literally be uncomfortable. I say that while I'm eating a double chocolate cookie after having had a baconator for supper. This is why I'm fat.

Until you experience the power such a frame gives. People will back off and you can steal lunch money by thugging it up.

130 lb male and thinking he's fat.

I'm 55.9 kg(was 54.1 about a month ago) and 6ft tall and I know I'm weak and thin(but in fine mental and metabolic shape). good 10lbs of muscle I should aim to gain.
