We're having twins too (identical) and my fear is Twin-Twin Transfusion when one baby takes too much from the other. Is that why yours had to be birthed early and what difficulties did you face? We're about 19 weeks right now so we're hoping for the best.
Yes, it was TTTS. Baby A was stuck and Baby B was stealing her fluid. MAKE SURE YOU GET WEEKLY ULTRASOUNDS!!! We were doing fine up till the beginning of May, and we delivered May 15th via emergency c-section. It got to the point where Baby B was developing hydrops (fluid around the heart) and it was either deliver now or lose the baby. This was after several amnio-reduction treatments over two weeks.
Apparently we were told back in January 2007 that the kids were di-chorionic/di-amniotic twins (non-identical) which almost never develop TTTS. However, they did. Anyways, if you want more info, we have a blog and my wife would be more than willing to talk to you and/or your spouse. Shoot me a PM and we can talk further. GOOD LUCK!
